Mythological Art Works is a personal website project dedicated to showcasing my original oil paintings inspired by:

Legendary heroes
Olympian gods and mythological narratives

Diana is the Roman goddess of the hunt, the moon, and the wilderness. She is a powerful symbol of independence, strength, and protection of nature. Often depicted with a bow and arrows, Diana moves freely through forests and mountains, untouched and self-governed.

This painting, Perseus & Medusa, is inspired by Caravaggio’s Medusa, particularly its "visceral realism" and the moment of suspended violence captured at the instant of transformation. While Caravaggio presents Medusa isolated—her terror frozen in the moment of death—I chose to expand the narrative by introducing Perseus into the scene.

This piece began with Venus in a Shell, a fresco from the Villa dell'Abbondanza in Pompeii. Preserved in 79 A.D., it carries a quiet elegance that feels untouched by time.

When I started this painting, I didn’t want to copy it. I wanted to respond to it.

Venus remained at the center, but Mars slowly entered the composition.
